Man Utd ask for Juventus star 'instead of Paulo Dybala' in Romelu Lukaku transfer

Manchester United have asked for another Juventus star instead of Paulo Dybala in the reported deal for unsettled striker Romelu Lukaku .

According to the Daily Mail , the Red Devils want Douglas Costa rather than the talented Argentine as part of the player plus cash deal for the Belgian.

It was believed that United had originally asked the Turin club if Dybala or Costa could be made part of the deal.

But, Dybala has indicated his reluctance to the idea of leaving the Italian champions and wants a meeting with new boss Maurizio Sarri about his future before making any decisions.

With United desperately wanting a deal for the 26-year-old striker to be struck, they have become impatient with Dybala and have scrapped their plans in favour of the signing of the Brazilian winger.

However, according to the same report, Costa is also understood to be just as opposed to a move away from Sere A as his teammate.

Although, the South American was reportedly close to a move to Old Trafford last season, and could still be convinced by the club.

United are willing to make the 28-year-old a star turned in the team, a role that Juventus cannot offer him with the talismanic Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad.

The I bianconeri are confident they can sign Lukaku head of rivals Inter Milan and former boss Antonio Conte with the rediscovered interest in Costa.

The striker recently posted a huge hint that he could be on his way out of Manchester when he posted an image on his Twitter account of him and his agent with the caption "Soon to be continued".
