Man Utd and Chelsea told to 'get chequebooks out' after 'unplayable' Jadon Sancho display

Manchester United and Chelsea are preparing a summer transfer battle for Jadon Sancho - and they have been told "get your chequebooks out" after his latest display.

Sancho put in a stunning display as Borussia Dortmund beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Fellow teenager Erling Haaland made all the headlines after his double but it was Sancho who was branded "unplayable" by ex-United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

He was compared to "Neymar in his prime" for his superb display - and the former England international believes Premier League clubs should break the bank to sign the "special" talent.

Hargreaves told BT Sport: "That performance from Sancho was like Neymar in his prime. Off the cuff. He was unplayable.

"Get your cheque books out. Somebody go and sign that kid because he is special."

Fellow pundit Jermaine Jenas also praised Sancho for his "maturity" as he labelled him the star of the show.

Jenas added: "He showed maturity beyond his years. He's a spearhead for them with what he brings, his lack of respect for the opposition.

"You always felt like he was going to do something tonight. That tells me he thinks he is the best player on the pitch."

Dortmund have a slender lead after their 2-1 success but the tie is delicately poised ahead of the second leg at the Parc des Princes in March.

But striker Haaland, who found the net twice to take his Champions League tally to double figures, warned rivals after the game he still has room for improvement.

Haaland said: "I am glad about the man of the match award, but feel like I still can do a lot better.

"I have to play better at this level, have to work hard to improve.

"The result is quite a dangerous one, as PSG has a very strong team and can still go through in the return leg."
