Man Utd and Arsenal on alert as Real Madrid make Keylor Navas transfer decision

Manchester United and Arsenal have been put on red alert with Keylor Navas set to be sold by Real Madrid this summer.

The three-time Champions League winner has managed to force his way back into Zinedine Zidane’s first-team plans having found himself out of favour at the beginning of the season following the arrival of Thibaut Courtois.

But the Costa Rica international looks set to end his five-year stay at the Bernabeu with Zidane ready to make Courtois his first-choice goalkeeper next year.

According to Spanish paper AS, former Chelsea star Courtois has been told that he will Real’s No.1 with the Spanish giants ready to cash-in on Navas, who has just one year remaining on his contract.

That will alert United, who remain uncertain over David de Gea’s long-term future at the club.

Naval, 32, is understood to prefer a move to a Premier League club should he leave Madrid.

Arsenal have been linked with his signature in the past with the Gunners losing Petr Cech at the end of the season.

The legendary goalkeeper will hang his gloves up this month and boss Unai Emery will look to bring in competition for Bernd Leno.

Emery played down talk of signing Navas back in January, however.

“It’s not true,” said Emery, back in January.

"We've never spoken about Keylor Navas.”

Emery is thought to favour a promotion for third-choice keeper Emiliano Martinez next season.

But £14million-rated Navas’ apparent availability could force the Spaniard into a re-think, providing the price is right.
