Four Premier League clubs are expected to get extra time off before the start of next season due to their commitments in Europe, according to reports.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Wolves are the four remaining English clubs still competitive in Europe.
If they progress, the Premier League is likely to give them 30 days off to allow players to recover from their final European match.
According to Sky Sports, this would mean that these clubs start next season later than everyone else.
The matter is set to be discussed at the next Premier league AGM on August 6.
Chelsea and Manchester City still have to face Bayern Munich and Real Madrid respectively in the second leg of their last-16 ties.
Should either side progress all the way to the final, on August 23, they won't be allowed to play in the Premier League until September 22.
This is a full 10 days after the new season begins on September 12.
For Manchester United and Wolves, the Europa League final takes place on August 21.
But if they reached the final, they would not be able to play in the Premier League before Sunday, September 20.
This means that they would return in the same game week as Man City or Chelsea, should either of those clubs reach the Champions League final.
The idea is the latest to emerge as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Since the restart, Premier League clubs have been able to make five substitutions from a bench of nine players, and drinks breaks take place twice during games.
