Man Utd abandon Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer and make surprise right-back new top target

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will drop his interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka after being impressed by Diogo Dalot’s emergence this season.

The Red Devils made Wan-Bissaka their No.1 defensive target this summer following his impressive performances for Crystal Palace .

The 21-year-old defender only broke into the first-team fold at Selhurst Park last season and has been virtually ever-present for Roy Hodgson’s Eagles this term.

However Dalot, 20, has slowly found his feet at Old Trafford following his £19million switch from Porto last summer.

And The Sun reports that Solskjaer has now decided that he doesn’t need two young full-backs in the same position.

Dalot has shown versatility this season and played as a left-back on Wednesday as United were beaten by Barcelona .

But the Norwegian manager is ready to make his Dalot his first-choice on the right flank, and would rather add experience to his ranks this summer.

The key training tactic Ole Gunnar Solskjaer re-introduced after Jose Mourinho left Man Utd

That has seen him turn his attention to out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier.

Meunier has won one league title in France after arriving at PSG in 2016, and was also part of his country's team who finished third at last summer’s World Cup in Russia.

He has started in just four of PSG’s last 14 games, but is reportedly keen on a move to Manchester at the end of the season.
