Man Utd 3 Huddersfield 1: Paul Pogba stars Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes winning return to Old Trafford

Manchester United made it two wins from two under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after a comfortable 3-1 win over Huddersfield.

Nemanja Matic opened the scoring on 29 minutes from two yards out before Paul Pogba bagged a second-half brace. Zanka netted a late consolation for the relegation-threatened side but it was a happy return to Old Trafford for the caretaker boss.

Solskjaer had been cautiously optimistic after his side's dream start with the 5-1 win at Cardiff at the weekend and it seemed the Norwegian was right to be concerned.

In his first game at Old Trafford as manager, Solskjaer brought in Juan Mata for Anthony Martial who was ill.

And while United struggled to get going, the Spaniard was one of the more lively players floating around in a central role, linking up well with Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

United did break the deadlock just before the half-hour mark when Victor Lindelof's header from a corner was parried into the path of Matic and he couldn't miss from two yards out.

Huddersfield applied some early pressure after the break and only a fine save from David De Gea prevented an equaliser, tipping away Laurent Depoitre's clever effort.

But just minutes after, United put the game beyond doubt. Herrera, on a substitute, found Paul Pogba in the box and he swept it into the corner. And the Frenchman got an excellent second with seven minutes to go, striking into the corner from 25 yards out.

The Terriers got a worthy consolation when Mathias Jorgensen slid home from a Steve Mounie header to take away the clean sheet. But Solksjaer didn't care - another three points and they move closer to the top four once again.
