Man uses live chainsaw to disperse Black Lives Matter protesters while shouting expletives

A shocking video has emerged showing the moment a man shouts at Black Lives Matter protesters to "go home" while revving a live chainsaw.

The footage, which was shared on Twitter on Friday afternoon, shows a man swearing at demonstrators outside a shop in McAllen, Texas.

The 44-year-old, who has not been identified, was later arrested by McAllen Police Department, NBC News reports.

The clip - which has now been viewed nearly a million times - shows a man wearing a red shirt and jeans getting out of a truck and approaching protesters with a live chainsaw.

He can then be heard shouting at the group, who appear to be making their way to a gathering, to move while he revved the machine.

In an expletive-filled tirade, he shouts: "Go home" while making racial slurs.

"Don’t let those f****** n****** out there fool you."

He can also be heard likening them to Antifa, an anti-fascist activist group recently declared a terrorist group by President Trump.

Lt. Joel Morales of McAllen police says the man has now been detained and that investigations are ongoing.

A Change.org petition calling for charges to be pressed against the man has now reached more than 10,000 signatures.

It comes as protests continue across the US and worldwide following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The unarmed black men was killed when a police officer placed his knee on his neck for almost nine minutes during an arrest on May 25.

Video footage shows the 46-year-old gasping that he cannot breathe during the arrest by four officers.

Derek Chauvin has now been charged with second degree murder after initially being accused of a lesser third degree charge.

His three colleagues Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao are charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Meanwhile UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock has urged people not to take part in mass demonstrations over the weekend as they will be breaching lockdown rules.

Speaking at the No 10 briefing on Friday, he warned people coronavirus remains 'a real threat'.

He said: "Like so many I am appalled by the death of George Floyd and I understand why people are deeply upset but we are still facing a health crisis and coronavirus remains a real threat.

"The reason that it is vital that people stick to the rules this weekend is to protect themselves and their family from this horrific disease.

"So please for the safety of your loved ones do not attend large gatherings including demonstrations of more than six people."
