Man United to battle Spurs for midfielder, Juventus target Chelsea star - Premier League rumours

The latest transfer news and rumours from around the Premier League.

United could battle Spurs for midfielder

The likelihood of Paul Pogba leaving Manchester United for the second time in his career seems to have increased, as the Daily Mail reports they have identified two midfield targets for the summer.

United are keen to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid and Donny Van de Beek from Ajax, rejuvenating their midfield, and the report states Pogba will be allowed to leave in order to finance a deal.

The World Cup winner only has 18 months remaining on his contract and has been heavily linked with a transfer, with Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid all mentioned as suitors.

Van de Beek, meanwhile, has been linked with Spurs but United could now provide competition for his services.

Juventus target Willian

Serie A champions Juventus are ready to raid the Premier League for a free agent once again as they line-up a move for Chelsea winger Willian, the Daily Mirror states.

Willian sees his current deal at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of the season and he is free to speak to clubs outside of England in the New Year, which Juventus are keen to take advantage of.

However, the report adds that Brazil international Willian would prefer to remain in West London under Frank Lampard.

Man City open talks for £10m deal

Manchester City are ready and willing to pay £10 million for Lanus starlet Pedro De La Vega and have opened talks ahead of an exciting January deal, according to A Bola.

18-year-old De La Vega has scored twice in 11 top flight games for Lanus this season and is widely considered to be one of the most exciting talents in South American football, with a move to Europe unlikely to be too far away.

As a result, the report says City have opened negotiations with the player’s entourage and are prepared to pay £10m for his services next month.

Aston Villa want Brentford youngster

Aston Villa are keen on signing prolific Brentford youngster Jaden Brissett, according to reports cited by Birmingham Live.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has impressed for Brentford’s B side, scoring 12 goals and getting nine assists in 18 matches this season.

As a result, he has attracted interest and Villa face competition in the market from QPR and Charlton Athletic.
