Man United star Paul Pogba sends strong message ahead of Premier League clash with Tottenham

Manchester United star Paul Pogba thinks that his side need to ‘change something’ if they want to keep their Premier League title ambitions alive.

The Red Devils are currently on 14 points this season, one point behind Tottenham – whom they play on October 30 after a bout with rivals Liverpool on Sunday – but given the strength in their current squad, and the opposition they’ve played so far, they really should be doing better.

United signed Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and of course, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the summer transfer window to make the squad the strongest it’s been since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, but the club have still struggled to get things going.

A 4-2 loss to Leicester on Saturday afternoon means that the Manchester-based outfit are now five points behind early leaders Chelsea, and Pogba thinks that they need to change something quickly – starting with victory over Tottenham – if they’re going to challenge the pacemakers.

Speaking in his post-match interview after that defeat, Pogba told Sky Sports, via the MEN: “Yeah, I think it’s all of us. We need to find something, we need to change something.

“It’s the mindset of all of us, the players when we start. We really don’t know, it’s frustrating because it’s something that we don’t understand and we have to find it out very fast.

"Because if we want to compete and, if we want to win the title, then it’s those games that you have to win even though that they are very hard, even if they are away, we need to find the right mentality, the right tactics to win those games.

"That’s my thoughts. We have to stick together and find the problem.”

The message is certainly a strong one. It could motivate United to put in a huge shift against both Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tottenham, or it could simply backfire. Spurs fans will be hoping for the latter.
