Man United star Christian Eriksen reveals Mauricio Pochettino training secret amid Chelsea talks

Former Tottenham and Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has already revealed the secret to Mauricio Pochettino's training sessions amid a potential switch for the Argentinian to the vacant managerial role at Chelsea. There is still no agreement in place between Chelsea and Pochettino despite confidence being high that a deal can be struck between both parties, football.london understands.

Any deal for the head coach to take over at Chelsea is likely to be at the end of the season, despite increasing pressure over the tenure of Frank Lampard after going winless in his first five fixtures. The former midfielder-turned-interim gave a blunt response over whether he has had any indication Pochettino would be taking the hot seat after him.

Following a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Brentford at Stamford Bridge, Lampard was asked whether he has an update on the search for a permanent manager. He simply replied, "Nothing" as the wait for confirmation on the next head coach continues to drag on.

However, it appears increasingly likely that Pochettino will be the man in the dugout next season, with talks still ongoing over a move. But it remains to be seen whether it will be a good fit for the former Tottenham man, who has managed some success in his time in the Premier League as well as in Ligue 1 with PSG.

A former player of his in Eriksen detailed the secret behind his training sessions and what players should expect in pre-season if he does seal a move to Chelsea. The Danish international told the official Manchester United website: "I had Poch for a lot longer than the other managers and I think what we did and what we created with him, the team we had was incredible.

"So, learning wise, I did learn from Poch. You’d have the ball less in training than before but have the ball a lot more in the games. With him, there was a lot of tough training, a lot of running, which is important for the physical part. We were a young side so, for us, it was the perfect mix and, just in the game, to play free."

There will be hopes that Pochettino can replicate that with a young side he could have at his disposal, so long as a move to Chelsea is finalised.
