Man United set to make first signing since appointing Michael Carrick

Manchester United have agreed a £35m fee with Atalanta for midfielder Ederson, with an additional £4m in add-ons possible.
Ederson, who has only one year left on his current contract, is expected to sign a four-year deal at Old Trafford, becoming Michael Carrick’s first acquisition.
The 26-year-old Brazilian's arrival marks the initial step in United's planned midfield overhaul, with Carrick aiming for at least two new central midfielders.
Other potential midfield targets for United include Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, though Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is more likely to join Manchester City.
This transfer activity follows the departure of Casemiro on a free transfer after four years, with uncertainty also surrounding the future of Manuel Ugarte.
