Man United's Fernandes decision, Chelsea suffer Werner blow - latest Premier League rumours

The January transfer window is up and running and teams from across the Premier League are looking to make significant improvements to their respective squads.

Although it is a notoriously difficult time to get things done, with clubs reluctant to sell players, it can also prove a vital period for the clubs.

Here is the latest round-up of transfer news and gossip from the Premier League below.

Premier League title odds

Man United make Fernandes decision

Manchester United are interested in securing the services of Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes this month.

United became frustrated last summer at what they felt were planted stories in the Portuguese media over their interest in the midfielder.

Whilst United did not make an offer for the 25-year-old then, the Manchester Evening News are now reporting that the club could make a play this month amid injuries to the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

Werner going nowhere

Manchester United and Chelsea target Timo Werner won't be leaving Red Bull Leipzig this month.

According to the latest reports from Express Sport , Werner wants to stay at Leipzig until the end of the season.

Werner has scored 18 goals and registered six assists from 17 matches so far this season.

Arsenal interest in Kabasele

Arsenal are interested in signing Watford defender Christian Kabasele.

The 28-year-old is in talks over a new contract at the Hornets, with his current deal set to expire in 2021.

However, that won't stop Arsenal enquiring about his services, according to Le10 Sport .

Wolves enter race for Lemar

Wolves are the latest side to enter the race to sign Thomas Lemar from Atletico Madrid this month.

Sport Witness are reporting that the Midlands club are interested in the midfielder and are hoping to use their good relationship with Jorge Mendes as a way of getting the deal done.

Atletico are keen on allowing Lemar to leave permanently this month, with both Spurs and Chelsea credited with registering their interest in the France international.
