Man United reveal transfer stance on Swansea City's Daniel James and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale - reports

Manchester United have reportedly cooled potential interest in Swansea City's Daniel James.

As previously reported by WalesOnline, United have not yet made any approach for the winger , who is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in British football.

Nevertheless, reports linking James with a move to Old Trafford have shown little sign of subsiding in recent weeks, although local outlets have now suggested that United will look at other targets.

The Manchester Evening News claims that while United want a winger, they are looking at more proven players, with James now seen as a fall-back option.

Nevertheless they reportedly remain keen on signing younger players, meaning that a move for Gareth Bale is now unlikely.

Bale, who turns 30 in July, is destined to leave Real Madrid this summer, with former president Ramon Calderon claiming that a stay in the Spanish capital is now looking impossible.

"Zidane is not keen on him; it is a relationship that will come to an end," he said.

"It seems it is impossible for him to be here... because of the coach and the relationship with the fans. They think he is not committed and that is a problem.

Real Madrid's Gareth Bale snubbed and denied final outing on what could have been his last game for Spanish giants

"The best thing for him is to move. He should take the opportunity if there is one."

A move to Manchester has long been suggested, but the former Spurs star is not believed to be high on the list of priorities for the United hierarchy, and may well have to look at other options if he wishes to move on this summer.
