Man United receive huge injury boost ahead of Chelsea clash as Paul Pogba posts Instagram update

Manchester United have received a welcome boost after Paul Pogba posted a picture of himself training for the first time without a protective boot.

The France international has been out of action since the win over Newcastle on Boxing Day, and was forced to undergo ankle surgery in January.

But Pogba is slowly on the mend and has been on his own individual training regime at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex in Dubai, whilst the rest of the Red Devils squad are in Marbella for warm-weather training during the winter break.

Speaking before jetting out to Spain, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: “Marcus [Rashford] and Paul [Pogba] are not ready yet to join in the training."

After the mid-season break, United travel to Stamford Bridge on Monday night, in what could prove to be a pivotal game in the race for Champions League qualification.

Solskjaer would ideally love to have Pogba back fit and available, but the trip to west London is likely to come too soon for the World Cup winner.

Elsewhere, United have been boosted by the return to training of Scott McTominay and defender Axel Tuanzebe.

According to The MEN, the pair were spotted training by photographers, though they appeared to remain separate from the rest of the squad as United manage their injury recoveries.
