Man United plan £80m transfer as Man City eye £100m midfielder - Premier League rumours

With the Premier League season over, all thoughts are now firmly focused on the summer transfer window.

It is set to be an interesting few months, with clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal believed to be keen to do plenty of business.

There could be some eye-watering amounts of money changing hands before the 2019-20 season kicks offs - and here are the latest rumours.

Man City eye £100m move

Manchester City are in talks to sign Benfica teenage star Joao Felix , according to the Sun.

They report that City chief executive Ferran Soriano has met with the president of the Portuguese side Luis Filipe Vieira and Jorge Mendes in London.

Felix is seen as one of the brightest talents in Europe with Man United also interested.

City appear to be considering the 19-year-old as an option should they sell Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich.

Man United plan striker sale

The Times report that Manchester United have set an asking price of £80m for wantaway striker Romelu Lukaku.

The report says that Man United are ready to let him the Belgian leave but for a massive price.

Inter Milan are looking to sign the former Everton forward as new boss Antonio Conte looks to rebuild his squad at the Serie A side.

They are unwilling to match the valuation and may look for an initial loan move for the 2019/20 season.

Chelsea eye £140m signing

Chelsea are looking at Philippe Coutinho as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard , reports the Mirror.

Hazard is expected to join Real Madrid and Coutinho is seen as the man to fill his boots.

The Blues are currently under a transfer ban during the next two transfer windows, until the end of January 2020, for breaking rules over the acquisition of under-18 players.

But they are prepared to appeal it at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Coutinho could leave Barca after failing to shine following his £142m move from Liverpool.

Race on for midfielder

Arsenal and Spurs are reportedly ready to battle for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek this summer.

The Eredivisie club are hopeful of keeping the midfielder after already agreeing to sell Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona for €75m earlier this year, and Van de Beek’s father said it would take an offer from “a very good club for him to want to trade Ajax for. He would prefer to win many more trophies with Ajax”.

However, both Arsenal and Spurs are hopeful of convincing the 22-year-old to join, according to the Times. A £45m fee was mooted for a possible Spurs bid, but thanks to Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals (where Mauricio Pochettino’s side knocked them out) has seen his stock rise.
