Man United old boy delivers 'exciting' verdict on young Nottingham Forest talent

Former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has hailed the impact of Nottingham Forest youngster Dale Taylor.

The 19-year-old mobile forward scored five goals in 20 games whilst on loan at League One side Burton last season. He signed a three-year contract at the City Ground last summer and is seen as a highly regarded young prospect.

Taylor made his second appearance for Northern Ireland as he played 13 minutes during their 1-0 Euro 2024 qualifier defeat away at Denmark on Friday. His only other international appearance came in a World Cup qualifier against Lithuania in 2021.

And Leicester City centre-back Evans could not talk more highly about his country's young talent including Taylor. Forest U23s player Aaron Donnelly was also in the Northern Ireland squad but is yet to make his international debut having spent last season on loan at Port Vale.

"It's always exciting when you get the young lads coming in and you get that bit of a goal threat and I thought that all the players who came off the bench did really well," Evans said.

"Dale's played a bit of senior football in England over the past couple of months and you can even see it in his game, even from being such a young age he looks like a man already. Young players have no fear, they are able to take the ball and try things and you can see that when they come on.

"Dale had a bit of skill so it's good to see the young lads and as I said there's no fear about them and they have no fear when they come on and express themselves."
