Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has questioned whether Arsenal have the ability to finish inside the top four this season.
The Gunners came from behind to claim a hard-fought 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, with the victory moving Unai Emery's side into the top four on goal difference.
Emery's side missed out on a place in last season's Champions League after a poor end to the campaign which saw them finish fifth in the final league standings.
While the Gunners also blew their second bite of the cherry following a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku.
But with the Blues seemingly in transition under the stewardship of Frank Lampard, and with Manchester United, the side who many believe will be Arsenal's closest rivals in the race for the top four, having suffered an indifferent start to the season.
United were beaten by West Ham yesterday afternoon, leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side eighth in the league table, three points off the Champions League places.
But despite the set-back, Keane, who is United's most successful ever captain, still believes his former side have enough to finish inside the top four this season.
"A couple of weeks ago I'd have said I wasn't sure about the top four for United but having looked at Tottenham and Arsenal over the last few weeks, I think United should be expecting to finish fourth," the former Republic of Ireland international told Sky Sports.
"It's there for the taking. It's there for a lot of teams and United, with the players that they have, should be capable of doing it."
