Paul Parker has called upon Manchester United to sell Paul Pogba after the French midfielder was missing from the team that lost 2-0 to Arsenal.
The Frenchman made his return to action as a substitute in a 2-0 loss to Watford in December to play his first game since September after being ruled out through injury.
He followed up that match with another appearance off the bench as Newcastle United were beaten 4-1.
Despite showing promising signs in both games he was then absent from games against Burnley and Arsenal as United were undone by Mikel Arteta's side at the Emirates Stadium.
Parker, who won the first two Premier League titles of the Sir Alex Ferguson era at Old Trafford, doesn't believe that the World Cup winner is worth sticking with given the current situation at the club.
"I don’t think he has a future," he told Bonus Code Bets . "Which is something I am not happy about.
"With the way things went under the previous manager, things that were said and done, I am not sure he will still be there, and I don’t think he wants to be there.
"With the current situation at United, they need players that want to be at the club and give everything they have got for the team, fans and the club.
"If he wants to leave and the right price is being matched, I would get rid of him as soon as possible. If United were to get the right price, they could use it the other way and bring someone in."
According to Parker, the money that United could get for Pogba needs to be reinvested elsewhere in the squad.
"They need to be tactical with their signings as they need to realise that bringing in new players will not get them instant success," he said. "You can’t buy instant success anymore."
He added: "I would say this is the worst United team in the Premier League era.
"The deterioration from 2013 is just been really poor. They have only won three trophies since then and if something does not change as soon as possible, things will only get worse for the club."
