Man United great Paul Scholes makes bold Liverpool claim in Man City comparison

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes has made a bold claim regarding Liverpool and Manchester City.

The ex-England international has said Pep Guardiola's team who acquired 100 points when winning the Premier League title in 2018 are better than Jurgen Klopp's current league leaders.

Speaking on Robbie Savage’s Premier League Breakfast on BBC Radio 5 Live, as cited by HITC, the former midfielder was asked if the Reds were playing better football than City did during the 2017/18 campaign.

To which the 11-time Premier League champion responded: "No, not particularly no.

"I still think Pep’s team will always play better football than this Liverpool team.

"They get the job done, no fuss about it."

Liverpool are currently 22 points clear of Man City at the top of the table, and just six wins away from securing a maiden Premier League title.

Speaking last month, Guardiola conceded defeat in the race for the title.

He said: "Liverpool obviously will be champions of the Premier League, but they would be champions in Spain, champions in Italy, champions in Germany.

"They would be champions everywhere after 23 games, 22 victories, one draw.

"Liverpool are just fantastic, phenomenal, overwhelming. So we have to accept it and learn from that."
