Man United fans tell Ole Gunnar Solskjaer exactly what to do with Daniel James amid Leeds United, West Brom and Brighton interest

Manchester United fans have told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to send Welsh winger out on loan in the Janauary window as speculation over his future continues to build.

Despite starting United's last two league games, James has largely seen himself slip out of favour under the United boss, and his future has been the topic of conversation for the last few months.

Long-term admirers Leeds United are one of the several Premier League clubs credited with an interest in a January move, having made tentative attempts to take him on loan during the summer.

Leeds remain fans of the player's abilties, having come so infamously close to snapping him up just a few months before his arrival at the Red Devils in the summer of 2019, but they aren't the only ones who view James as a good fit.

Graham Potter, who handed James his breakthrough at Swansea City, is also believed to be keen on taking the 23-year-old as he bids to keep Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League for another season.

Burnley is another name to be mentioned, while reports over the weekend claimed new West Bromwich Albion boss Sam Allardyce was eager to bring James on board as he bids to fight his own relegation battle.

However, suggestions that enquiries had already been made from the Baggies are understood to be wide of the mark.

Nevertheless, there are clearly still questions over the Wales international's long-term future at United, with a number of fans still not yet convinced about his role at the club.

A number of supporters have already suggested that the club made a mistake in not allowing the player to be loaned out in the summer, and it seems many of them haven't changed their mind.

WalesOnline's sister title MEN Sport ran a poll on Sunday asking United fans what to do with James next month.

6,686 fans voted in the survey, with 55 per cent suggesting that a loan stint would be the best course of action for the player.

Another 24 per cent said the Welshman should be sold altogether, with a further 21 per cent suggesting that he should be kept on as a squad option for the second half of the season.

For what it's worth, sources close to the player claim James is focused on proving himself at Old Trafford, but with young Atalanta wideman Amad Diallo set to arrive at Old Trafford in the winter window, James could well see his place in the pecking order come under threat.

Something may well have to give.
