Man United fans target bus 'filled with children who support their own club' ahead of Liverpool game

A coach company which claimed it was taking kids who support Manchester United to tonight's game against Liverpool has criticised home fans for attacking it with bottles and other missiles.

Videos emerged prior to kick off tonight of a group of United supporters hurling objects towards coaches - which they presumably thought were full of Liverpool followers or the away team - and chanting 'murderers' and 'you scouse b******s'.

United fans are protesting against hugely unpopular owners the Glazers ahead of tonight's crucial Premier League game and fans had gathered at various pubs with plans to march to Old Trafford.

But an account that seemingly belongs to coach company Beeline VIP Coaches has tweeted that their bus was actually transporting young United fans to Old Trafford ahead of tonight's game.

They posted: "Many thanks you idiots, we were bringing a group of kids to the game (Manchester United Fans) all we’re frightened to death) where we’re the @gmpolice when we needed you to keep the coach and kids safe ???"

In separate tweets, the account confirmed they were a "Manchester firm" and replied to one well-wisher saying: "Yeah [we're] fine. Wouldn’t mind but we had a coach full of kids!"

The ECHO has contacted Beeline VIP Coaches for comment.
