Man United fans split over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's shock Cristiano Ronaldo decision vs Everton

Manchester United fans are split on the decision to rest Cristiano Ronaldo against Everton.

After less than three full days between the games, United are back in Premier League action on Saturday following their dramatic win over Villarreal to get off the mark in their Champions League group on Wednesday.

It was Ronaldo who grabbed the late winner in the match to take his tally since returning to Old Trafford up to five goals in six games.

Despite the massive impact he's had, Ole Gunnar Solskjhaer has opted to drop him to the bench for the visit of Everton, with Edinson Cavani coming in to lead the line, which has caused a stir amongst supporters.

A lot of fans are perplexed as to why the manager wouldn't start such a guaranteed source of goals, especially when the international break begins after this round of fixtures which will give Ronaldo a week's rest at least.

Others, however, have pointed out that Ronaldo has already played a full 90 minutes twice this week and, at 36-years-old, it's important to manage him properly to prevent injuries.
