Man United fans noticed what Anthony Martial did against Aston Villa ahead of Spurs clash

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might have been handed a major injury scare ahead of Wednesday night's Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

The visit of the Lilywhites and former boss Jose Mourinho is the first of two huge games for the Red Devils this week as they face rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

With United somewhat off the pace in the race for the top four, pressure is growing on Solskjaer to get positive results.

His side go into the game at Old Trafford on the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

That result means United trail Spurs by two points in the Premier League table.

And matters might have been made worse when Anthony Martial was substituted in the 82nd minute when there was still enough time for the hosts to grab a winner.

The United no.9 has been in good form since returning from injury - netting three goals and weighing in with two assists in his last eight appearances - but there's fears that he could miss the Tottenham clash.

As spotted by some United fans on social media, Martial headed straight down the tunnel after being replaced by Mason Greenwood.

This has prompted theories that he could be injured again.

Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...

It could be that Martial was just frustrated with being taken off as Solskjaer didn't offer an update on the Frenchman after the game.

Instead he focused on whether Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay will be available to face Spurs.

"We have still got two days and we need to look at everyone," he told reporters. "We have only got two days, so let's see, but, hopefully, we can see one of them (McTominay or Pogba) on the pitch.
