Dusan Vlahovic is one of the hottest properties in world football at the minute, and Manchester United fans have implored their club not to let him slip by.
The Serbia international is highly in-demand ahead of the January transfer window, with some of Europe’s top clubs being linked with a move.
Vlahovic has been on fire for Fiorentina this season, with 15 goals and two assists from 17 Serie A appearances, leading to the likes of United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus and Atletico Madrid all being linked over the past few months.
It’s not just this season where he’s been at the top of his game though – his record of 32 league goals in 2021 places him second across Europes big five leagues, ahead of the likes of Mohamed Salah and Lionel Messi, with only Robert Lewandoswki (42) ahead of him.
And at just 21, Vlahovic is being viewed as one of the brightest talents over the next decade, and he’ll certainly have plenty of eyes on him as the January transfer window approaches.
Of course, United will be aiming to make some additions in the New Year as Ralf Rangnick gets down to work, with a fair few names having already been linked.
It’s likely he might look at areas other than up top, particularly the midfield, but United fans have made their feelings clear, and they want Vlahovic.
Fiorentina will, of course, not be keen to lose their star player halfway through the season, but with reports that Vlahovic isn’t willing to sign a new contract, they may well have to listen to offers.
Vlahovic’s contract runs until 2023, meaning the Italian club will have to accept a deal either next month or during the summer if they are to cash in on the young striker.
He certainly won’t be cheap for any club looking to secure his signature, with Fiorentina said to have slapped a £68m price tag on his head – but if United don’t go for him, it looks likely one of their big rivals will.
