Fans of Manchester United have called upon the club to activate a clause in Toby Alderweireld's contract at Tottenham Hotspur following an injury to Eric Bailly.
The Ivorian centre-back was forced off in their pre-season clash with Spurs in Shanghai.
He was stretched off and was seen to be taken down the tunnel hobbling with two people on either arm guiding him back to the dressing room.
Bailly appeared unable to put any weight on his injured foot and could now face a race against time to win a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans for the new season.
Alderweireld could be available for as little as £25million due to special clause inserted into his Spurs contract, which still has one more season to run.
If a club were to come in for him and offer the aforementioned sum prior to the final two weeks of the summer transfer window before deadline day he would be available for a relative bargain.
While his wage demands are likely to be high, he remains one of the leading players in his position in the Premier League.
For United supporters watching on as Bailly was taken off, the decision for the club appeared to be clear.
United could, however, be set to sign Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire.
First linked to the club back in 2012, during the doomed reign of David Moyes, he has matured into an England international after impressing for Sheffield United, Hull City and the Foxes.
Manchester City have also been linked but Solskjaer's side are tipped to win the race for Maguire, whose transfer could cost a British record sum.
