Man United fans have Declan Rice transfer theory after England Euro 2020 win

Manchester United fans joked the Reds had announced the signing of Declan Rice on Wednesday night.

The Three Lions beat Denmark 2-1 in the semi-final of Euro 2020 at Wembley and United's captain Harry Maguire once again played an instrumental role in that triumph, but he wasn't the only player representing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in that historic result.

Luke Shaw started at left-back for England and continued his rich vein of form at the tournament, while United transfer target Rice was quietly excellent in midfield, regularly regaining possession and offering his nation the oxygen they needed to launch attacks.

After the final whistle, joyous scenes ensued at Wembley and across the country, while social media was also sent into a frenzy.

Would you like Rice to sign for United? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

United's official social media posted a picture of Maguire and Rice celebrating after the game and supporters were quick to flood the comments, suggesting or joking that the post was actually an announcement of the West Ham star's transfer to Old Trafford.

"What a nice way to add Rice," one fan wrote.

"Rice announced?" another said.

England will play Italy in the final of Euro 2020 on Sunday and it's said a full capacity of 90,000 fans at Wembley hasn't been ruled out.
