Man United fans are saying the same thing about the Champions League after Son Heung-min injury

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a second major injury blow of the season with forward Son Heung-min set to undergo surgery on a fractured arm.

The South Korean is due to be on the sidelines for a 'number of weeks' after suffering the injury during the Premier League win over Aston Villa on Sunday.

"Heung-Min Son is to undergo surgery this week after sustaining a fracture to his right arm," read a statement on Tottenham's official website.

"Following surgery, our medical staff shall be reviewing management options for Son’s rehabilitation with the player expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks."

The news comes as a major blow to Jose Mourinho's side with main striker Harry Kane still some way off making a comeback after suffering a hamstring injury during the New Year's Day loss against Southampton.

Tottenham currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League table, just one point behind Chelsea in fourth, as they aim to ensure that Champions League football remains at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

Spurs take on Chelsea in their next Premier League game on Saturday.

The news of Son's injury has caused a reaction from Man United fans, with their team sitting just two points behind Spurs.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men recorded a 2-0 win over top-four rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.

And in a twist to the Champions League race, Manchester City's potential ban from the competition means that a fifth place finish could be enough to qualify this season, which has raised hopes of the chasing pack.

Manchester United, Sheffield United, Wolves, Everton and Arsenal will all be hoping to take advantage of the injury setback for Spurs.
