Manchester United pair Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have withdrawn from their latest national team squads due to injury, the club announced.
Mbeumo will miss Cameroon’s upcoming friendlies against Australia and China "as a precaution" after being substituted in the second half of Friday’s Premier League encounter at Bournemouth.
Fellow forward Sesko, who replaced Mbeumo in the 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium, will not be available for Slovenia’s games against Hungary and Montenegro "to ensure that he fully recovers from an issue that United have been carefully managing".
The club have not specified the nature of either injury.
The Red Devils will hope neither setback is serious as they aim to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League after the international break.
Michael Carrick’s side are currently third in the Premier League table after only losing one match since the Englishman replaced Ruben Amorim in January.
A top-five finish looks likely to be good enough to earn a spot in Europe’s elite competition, and United have a seven-point lead over sixth-placed Chelsea after the London club were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Everton on Saturday.
United have three weeks until their next match, when they are due to face Leeds United at home on 13 April.
They are then set to play Chelsea, Brentford, Liverpool and Sunderland, who all have European ambitions of their own, before finishing the campaign with matches against Nottingham Forest and Brighton.
Meanwhile, in better news, defender Noussair Mazraoui has recovered from illness and will link up with Morocco as they prepare to play Ecuador and Paraguay over the international break.
These will be Morocco’s first matches since they were controversially declared Africa Cup of Nations champions last week by the Confederation of African Football (Caf).
Caf ruled that Senegal walking off the pitch in protest during January’s final constituted them forfeiting the match, and overturned the result, handing Morocco a 3-0 victory.
Senegal has announced it plans to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas).
