Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has welcomed Jose Mourinho back to the Premier League following his appointment as Spurs manager.
Solskjaer took over as interim manager at Old Trafford when Mourinho was sacked in December 2018, before being awarded the job on a permanent basis in March.
Solskjaer's United side beat Spurs at Wembley in one of his first few games after taking charge of the side as the club put together an impressive run of form.
But since then, results have been disappointing and United find themselves in seventh place in the table following four wins, four draws and four losses in the Premier League this season.
The Manchester United boss was inevitably asked about Spurs' decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino - who has previously been linked with the Old Trafford hot seat - and replace him with Mourinho.
Solskjaer had little to say on the matter, welcoming back Mourinho and commiserating with Pochettino.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but it's not gonna be about Jose or Mauricio. I can start with it's good to have Jose back, definitely," Solskjaer told reporters.
"Especially for you guys, maybe for me because you can talk and write about everything else.
"For Mauricio, it's always sad when one of your colleagues, a good man, loses a job before Christmas. I wish him all the best.
"In football you can never be surprised or shocked, I've just gotta focus on us."
United host Spurs in the Premier League in less than two weeks' time.
