Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer favourite to be next manager sacked ahead of Leeds game

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now the favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked, with a clash against Leeds on the horizon.

Solskjaer's side were beaten 3-2 by RB Leipzig on Tuesday, sealing their elimination from the group stage of the Champions League - and sending them into the Europa League.

Man United had started the competition well, with wins over Paris Saint-Germain and Leipzig in their first two matches.

However, a disastrous result away to Istanbul Basaksehir meant they were up against it in their remaining fixtures, with losses against both PSG and Leipzig meaning they dropped out of Europe's top competition.

Losses in the Premier League have seen United struggle, with the 6-1 home defeat against Jose Mourinho's Spurs a low point of their season so far.

However, after their win against West Ham on Saturday they were just two points off top spot - a gap that has now been stretched to five points, though they do have a game in hand.

Solskjaer is under mounting pressure to improve results, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino heavily linked with the job.

And the fixtures do not get any easier for Solskjaer, with a match against rivals Manchester City on Saturday evening.

There is a possibility that the manager could be gone by the time Leeds travel to Old Trafford on December 20th, and Solskjaer at 13/8 has pulled ahead of relegation candidates Chris Wilder at Sheffield United and Slaven Bilic at West Brom as the manager most likely to lose his job with Ladbrokes.

Marcelo Bielsa is back out in relative safety at 50/1, representing the decent start Leeds have made to the season after earning promotion to the Premier League.
