Man United boss drops transfer hint amid Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams to Newcastle links

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an update on the futures of Jesse Lingard and Brandon Williams amid speculation linking them with Newcastle United.

Newcastle are reported to be among the clubs keen on signing attacking midfielder Lingard on loan, along with Premier League rivals West Ham and Sheffield United.

The Magpies have also been credited with an interest in left-back Williams, as have West Ham and Southampton.

Both players have found their first-team chances limited at Old Trafford this season - and could be loaned out before the January transfer window closes on Monday (February 1).

Solskjaer was asked about the pair at his pre-match press conference today (Tuesday).

"They're still part of our club, part of the squad, training well," he said.

"No deal has been struck for any players yet going out, there is still a little period left, of course.

"There have been many clubs interested in our players, so let's see what happens.

"For me, It's also important to take our wishes and our plans into consideration but the players, of course, are Manchester United people and players through and through."

The Manchester Evening News reports that Williams could stay put for now following the recent permanent departure of fellow full-back Timothy Fosu-Mensah to Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Solskjaer revealed that teenage winger Facundo Pellistri could be heading out on loan.

The 19-year-old joined United from Uruguayan club Penarol in October and is yet to feature for the first team.

"Yeah, there have been talks (about Pellistri) and there have been quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan and that is maybe something we will let him do now," said the manager.

"He's had a few games in the reserves, we want him to have regular football at a high level."
