Man United and Spurs the most likely destinations for Gareth Bale after latest Real Madrid snub

Bookmakers have cut the odds on Gareth Bale returning to the Premier League after he was an unused substitute in Real Madrid's final game of the season on Sunday.

It is widely reported that Bale will be leaving the Bernabeu this summer after six years in the Spanish capital and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been criticised by fans for not giving Bale the chance to play what may have been his last game for the club.

After the loss against Real Betis, the Frenchman refused to be drawn on if Bale has a future in Spain.

Zinedine Zidane speaks out on Gareth Bale's future and why he was denied Real Madrid send off

"I do not know if it was the last game," he said, as reported by AS . "Now we will see what will happen.

"I do not know what's going to happen, lately I've used other players. I make decisions and I make changes, next year everything can happen."

The latest snub has caused bookmakers to react and cut the odds of Bale coming back to England, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur tipped at likely destinations.

888 Sports have cut the odds of a transfer to Old Trafford to 7/4, making the Red Devils the favourites to land the four-times Champions League winner. Tottenham are second favourites to re-sign Bale, with a return to N17 priced at 4/1.

"Gareth Bale seems to be at the end of his time at Real Madrid – and Man United look his most likely destination," said a spokesman for the bookmakers. "United have made no secret of their admiration for Bale over the years, and with plenty of money to spend, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they made move for him this summer.

Tottenham's Serge Aurier offers update on his future at the club after an injury hit season

"A romantic return to Tottenham could also be on the cards – but after his snub from Zinedine Zidane yesterday, it’s seeming less and less likely he’ll be lining up for Real next year."

Italian giants Juventus and French Champions Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running for Bale should he leave Real at the end of the season. All of the latest odds can be found below.
