Since BBC journalist David Ornstein broke the news that Nicolas Pepe will be signing for Arsenal in a deal worth £80 million, fans all over Twitter have had their say.
Pepe, who will sign on a five year contract with his transfer fee paid in instalments to fit Arsenal’s budget, has sparked a plethora of funny reactions from the footballing community.
Most of whom seem totally bewildered by the money Unai Emery is willing to fork out to bring the Ivorian to the Emirates.
While Gunners everywhere celebrate their most ambitious summer signing of the window, rivals United and Liverpool contemplate what might have been.
The general reaction, in a lot of places, sees both fanbases lamenting the fact they still have much crucial business to do before the season begins - with missing out on Pepe being a hammer blow.

That’s definitely the case for Liverpool supporters, who are still yet to make a marquee signing this window.
@COYGBH_: Europa league losers Arsenal are beating Champions league winners Liverpool to the signing of Nicolas Pepe???
@AllezLH: Nicolas Pépé is literally there for the taking, why the f*** wouldn’t you bid @LFC. Imagine if one of the wingers get injured, we literally have Shaqiri who is probably the most inconsistent player I have ever seen in my life.
@BSaunders95: Arsenal agree £80m for Nicolas Pepe. @LFCany danger of doing something in this transfer window?!
@ftbljosh: Arsenal fans are using Nicolas Pépé compilations made by Liverpool fans. You love to see it.
@Irman27: They can't afford Zaha for more than £40m but this?
@Shediyaftermath: So that's how Liverpool missed out on Nicolas Pepe
@Bradleeyw: Nicolas Pepe is off to Arsenal then...how are Liverpool just standing still and not signing anyone for the first team...FSG are a joke
@TheKopProdigy: I'm in the I'd have loved to have signed him boat but it seems pointless people whinging about it.
@worldinred: Arsenal sign Nicolas Pépé and Liverpool twitter goes into meltdown
Meanwhile, Man United fans seem to be just as gutted to miss out on the youngsters signature.
But given the signings they have made already this window, and the fact they seem to be on the verge of finally wrapping up Harry Maguire, the reaction doesn’t hold as much frustration.
@Masongreenwould: Harsh reality ahahahahah but I knew it
@maguiremadness: Great signing for Arsenal that, very jealous! Guess it means no zaha now though?
@AxAs23: Great signing by arsenal but a stupid one.. imagine paying 80m over 80 years and strengthening their attack which was already good when their defence and midfield is diabolical
@froomie53: @ManUtd... absolute banter that arsenal can get deals done whilst Woodward is offering amazon vouchers for our “targets”.
@UnitedAjay: Arsenal really are about to beat United, Liverpool and Napoli to the signing of Nicolas Pepe
