Manchester United's season hit a new low on the final day of the Premier League campaign as Cardiff City left Old Trafford with a 2-0 victory.
Cardiff - already relegated before the match - took the lead at Old Trafford through Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's penalty after he was brought down in the area after 23 minutes.
And Mendez-Laing scored another goal in the second half as United fell to a humiliating home defeat to lay bare the scale of the task facing United this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faces a huge rebuilding task, and little about the match suggested that United have any capacity to mount a title challenge to champions Man City next season.
