Man 'under investigation' after customers threatened at Morrisons in Fishponds

A man has been released under investigation after customers were threatened in a Bristol supermarket yesterday (April 3).

Police officers attended Morrisons in Fishponds Road at around 7.30am yesterday.

They had been called following reports of a disturbance at the store.

Upon arrival, officers said they found a man in his 30s acting in a threatening manner towards other customers.

A man was arrested by police officers at the scene.

He has now been released but remains under investigation.

According to reports on social media, a riot van and three police cars were present at the store.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said yesterday: "We were called to reports of disturbance at Morrison's supermarket in Fishponds Road at about 7.30am.

"A man in his 30s who was being threatening to customers in the store was arrested shortly afterwards."

The spokesperson added today: "The arrested man has been released under investigation."
