Man turns up at hospital 'seriously injured' after stabbing

A man turned up to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed.

Police have confirmed that on Sunday, June 19, at around 6.26am, a man took himself to Whiston hospital with serious injuries. It is not yet known where the 39-year-old, from Liverpool, was stabbed.

His injuries are described as being serious but are not thought to be life-threatening. An investigation is now underway, with police revealing they are trying to work out where the stabbing took place.

A spokesperson for Cheshire police said: "At 6.26am on Sunday 19 June, officers were made aware that a 39-year-old man from Liverpool had presented at Whiston hospital with serious stab wounds. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"An investigation is now underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his injuries." They added: "There are enquiries underway to establish where the incident has taken place."
