Man 'tries to snatch two schoolgirls, 11, near bus stop' sparking major police manhunt

A man allegedly tried to snatch two 11-year-old girls near a bus stop in a terrifying incident which has sparked a major police manhunt.

The schoolgirls were in Orpington, Bromley, Greater London when they were approached by a man who got out of a car and attempted to grab them.

They managed to flee and made their way back to school, where police and their parents were alerted.

Police say the young victims were distressed but otherwise physically unharmed.

Detectives are now investigating the incident being treated as an attempted abduction, which happened at about 3pm on Wednesday September 9.
