Man tries to return pancake stolen by Dublin seagull in viral post

A thoughtful man has launched a campaign to reunite a pancake with its owner after a crafty seagull stole it.

So far, nobody has claimed the flat confectionary delight but there is still hope as the tweet gains traction.

Some users replied to the post with jokes while other used the space to share the culinary tragedies they suffered at the hands of seagulls.

Bren, the user who posted the pancake tweet, wrote in the caption: "If anyone is missing a pancake in the Dublin 7 area, a seagull just dropped it onto our garden."

Blaise replied to the post with a picture of a 'headless eel' that was fished out of the Thames and dropped on her London patio by a seagull.

She wrote: "Be glad you never lived beside the Thames. This is a 2 foot headless eel that a seagull dropped into my enclosed courtyard one balmy 36°C day in London".

Aoife replied: "A seagull stole my BLT once when I was in New Zealand."

Another user blamed the marine birds for "littering". He said: "Seagulls will ultimately be found to be the most prolific litterers and cause of a lot of sea trash! You watch my words!!"

Megan wrote: "I had a seagull drop a slice of bread in my garden before. The weird thing is, he stared at me after. I went inside and locked the door, it seemed like a trap."
