As the warm weather continues to test people throughout this week, many people will have found themselves dealing with sleepless nights and constant sweating.
If you, like many others, hate sleeping with a window open or don't have a fan, then trying to stay cool at night can be a difficult task.
However, there are other ways to keep cool during the night that are cheap and easy, and will help you drift off to sleep in even the hottest of weather.
A Birmingham Live reporter tried out one trick involving icepacks, which he said cost him around £1 each to test. Here's how he got on.
The £1 icepack hack to sleeping at night
Having tried the hot water bottle hack - filling it with cold water instead - I felt the effect of this didn't last long enough, so I opted for a cheap ice pack hack that cost around £1 to do.
Icepacks are usually kept permanently in the freezer, and are often used to keep food cool during a picnic or a road trip.
All you have to do is pop it out of the freezer at night and stick it in a spare pillowcase - then put it in the bed where your feet can touch it. Don't totally wrap it up in the pillowcase or you'll reduce the cooling effect.
The pillowcase takes away the initial shock of the cold ice pack, and absorbs the freezer moisture on the outside of the ice pack.
Putting your feet on the icepack is pure bliss and you can feel the sizzling heat draining out of your body. The effect seemed to last for ages and it certainly helped me nod off.
If you opt for a multipack then you can go downstairs and get another from the freezer when you wake in the night and find the one in the bed has warmed up too much.
Or, you can hand one out to all the family, so everybody stays cool throughout the night.

Icepacks can vary in price, of course, and they can be bought individually if you have limited freezer space or are not keen on a whole batch of them rattling around.
However, a batch of them is probably cheaper, as they are sold at many stores across the UK in multipacks.
You can get ice packs from Amazon for £6.89 for a six pack, or Argos also has you covered - costing £16 for a lunch pack style batch.
