Authorities are looking for a man who tried to lure a teenage girl to a car while she stood at a bus stop Tuesday in Portage Park on the Northwest Side.

The 14-year-old was standing at the stop about 3:15 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Addison Street when a car pulled up and the driver motioned for her to get in, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

When the girl ignored him, the man told her to “get in the car” and she ran away, police said. The man then drove away.

He was described as a balding man between 40 and 50 years old with white hair along the sides of his head, police said. He was driving a newer-model, gray, four-door sedan.

Another attempted child luring was reported less than two miles away in the same neighborhood on Saturday afternoon in the 3800 block of North Melvina Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8200.
