Man tried to feed Spice to birds in Piccadilly Gardens to avoid arrest

A suspect tried to evade arrest by feeding Spice to birds in Piccadilly Gardens, police have reported.

The man attempted to dump a stash of the synthetic class B drug by scattering it on the ground in the gardens, in Manchester city centre, on Saturday (November 7).

Greater Manchester Police say they believe the man was “hoping to avoid arrest”.

But instead, the drugs were confiscated and he was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.

GMP Manchester City Centre tweeted about the bizarre incident on Saturday night.

Officers wrote: “Male tried to feed Spice to birds to escape arrest!

“A male was stopped by officers, when he started to scatter drugs on the ground in Piccadilly Gardens, hoping to avoid arrest.

“Drugs recovered & male arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug.”
