Man treated at scene as M4 lorry crash causes traffic chaos on M5 and M48

A man has been treated at the scene after a lorry crash which caused traffic chaos on the M4, M5 and M48 this morning (February 4).

Lanes one and two were shut in both directions on the M4 near J20 (Almondsbury Interchange for the M5), causing severe delays in the area of more than an hour.

The collision left the lorry partially blocking the motorway after it crossed from the westbound to the eastbound carriageway through the central reservation barrier.

Frustrated motorists were left trapped in huge traffic jams, with congestion queuing back across the Prince of Wales Bridge.

South Western Ambulance Service has confirmed a man was treated for minor injuries following the collision.
