A man says his home has been invaded by a "huge swarm of bees" which has left him trapped indoors.

"There was loads yesterday but they disappeared. I went to the shop [today] and there was loads.

"I've rang pest control and they said not to go near them and that they should have disappeared by dinnertime tomorrow [Sunday]. One of my neighbour's rang the  council .

"They are all going into the gardens. There's kids that play out around here and they can't go out with them flying."

The man said he was told by pest control that they are honey bees.

"I was going to have a BBQ but I can't because of the bees," he said.

"I've lived here 20 years and I've never seen it."
