Man trapped in car under lorry on Kingston Bridge rushed to hospital

A person has been rushed to hospital after a motor became wedged underneath a lorry on the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the M8 near Junction 19 at around 10am on Tuesday, September 28.

A car had crashed into the back of an HGV - leaving the front end of the motor trapped and the road blocked.

An eyewitness told the Daily Record that they saw an elderly man being treated by paramedics on the gridlocked motorway.

The Scottish Ambulance Service have confirmed that they sent a resuscitation rapid response unit to the scene.

One person has been taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment but their condition is not currently known.

Police Scotland earlier confirmed that they were called to reports of a two vehicle crash on the eastbound carriageway.

A force spokesperson said: "Around 10.05am on Tuesday 28 September, officers were called to a report of a two vehicle road crash on the eastbound M8 at junction 19.

"Emergency services attended and the carriageway was closed and re-opened around 11.30am."

"One man has been taken to hospital."

Traffic Scotland have confirmed that the road reopened at around 11.30am.
