A man has been hospitalised after being reportedly trampled by a cow at Duckenfield Thursday morning.
Three NSW Ambulance crews were called to the scene on Duckenfield Wharf Road around 10am after initial reports a man in his 30s had become trapped between the animal and a gate.
Paramedics assessed the man at the scene before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Joel De Zuna said the man had managed to free himself before paramedics arrived and though suffering significant pain, his injuries were not life-threatening.
"While it's rare that we get called out to an incident involving a large animal like this, we train often for these situations and are well prepared," Inspector De Zuna said.
