A man has been found dead on train tracks near Dalry.
The tragic incident happened yesterday around 5.44pm on the Lochwinnoch railway line.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
The death sparked a police probe but is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being sent to the procurator fiscal.
All services running between Irvine and Lochwinnoch were either cancelled, delayed or revised as a result.
This included Glasgow, Ayr , Largs, and Ardrossan services.
British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to the line near Dalry at 5.44pm yesterday following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the procurator fiscal."
