A man is to stand trial accused of stealing a milk van involved in a series of collisions which left three people injured, a judge ordered today.
Darren McGrath, 23, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court on a total of 13 charges linked to the alleged theft in the west of the city .
He faces three counts of aggravated vehicle taking causing injury and six counts of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to other cars.
McGrath, of no fixed abode, is also charged with driving while disqualified, dangerous driving and resisting police.
The alleged offences relate to the theft of a van in the Castle Street area on January 5 this year.
According to the prosecution it was then driven dangerously between Balkan Street and Cavendish Street.
McGrath was brought into the dock for a preliminary enquiry hearing. His lawyer did not contest submissions that he has a prima facie case to answer.
No evidence was given or any witnesses called during proceedings. District Judge Fiona Bagnall granted a prosecution application to have McGrath returned for Crown Court trial.
She remanded him back into custody to appear again for arraignment on a date to be fixed.
