A 25-year-old man has denied the murder of a dad-of-two.
Patrick Boyle was shot twice in the chest in Newway, Huyton at around 5.55pm on July 1 this year
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Reuben Murphy, of Oak Avenue, Newton-le-Willows appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today and pleaded not guilty to murdering 26-year-old Mr Boyle.
He also denied two offences involving the possession of a firearm and another of possessing ammunition.
Tributes to dad-of-two Mr Boyle after his death described him as a 'lovely lad' who was 'setting up a future' for his family.
One shared a picture of him on a beach with his dog in the sunset.
It said: "Taken too soon big lad, to think you had your head down setting a future up for your kids one of the few people I know that had a heart of gold, rest easy bro."
Another shared a picture of Boyle outside Anfield, commenting: "Words can’t explain how cruel this world is! RIP Paddy Boyle."
Murphy was further remanded in custody to await his trial, expected to last three to four weeks, beginning on March 28 next year.
