A MAN is to stand trial charged with raping a woman at the Faslane naval base.
Jake Wilson, 37, is alleged to have carried out the attack on May 11 2023.
He faces a further charge of sexually assaulting another woman over a 13-month period including on a submarine docked at Faslane in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute.
Prosecutors claim the rape occurred in a cabin there while the female was asleep or intoxicated, causing her to be unable to consent.
The accusation features accusations Wilson lay on top of her, kissed her and removed her clothes.
It is separately claimed Wilson did sexually assault an earlier woman on various occasions between October 2021 and November 2022.
The incidents are also said to have occurred "whilst on various journeys at sea" – with the exact locations being unknown to prosecutors.
It is claimed Wilson touched this woman on the body and, one time, hit her on the buttocks as well as hug her.
A short hearing took place at the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday.
Wilson's lawyer Duncan McPhie said: "He pleads not guilty to the indictment. The defence are in a position to fix a trial."
The advocate told the hearing that a special defence of consent had also been lodged in connection with the rape charge.
Lord Mulholland went on to set a trial which is scheduled to begin in May 2026.
The case could last around five days.
Wilson, of Gosport, Hampshire, remains on bail meantime.
