Man faced court over shooting allegedly linked to bikie gangs

A Batemans Bay man faced court on Wednesday accused of shooting a man in the thigh during an incident police believe is linked to bikie gangs.

Connor John Manns, 21, pleaded not guilty to all charges including recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm and failing to stop a motor vehicle for police.

Police said a man arrived at the emergency department of Calvary Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh at 7.20pm on Monday December 16.

ACT Policing believed the incident was linked to outlaw motorcycle gang activity, and started an investigation under its anti-gang operation, Taskforce Nemesis.

Mr Manns is allegedly affiliated with the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang.

Police arrested Mr Manns on December 24 in relation to the shooting. He was remanded in custody and will reappear in court in February.

ACT Policing would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who may have information relating to the incident.

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6473951. Information can be provided anonymously.
